The craftsman, not the craft

Singeetam Srinivasa Rao carried a film in his head for forty years, and made it at ninety-four.

I watched this recent film, Sing Geetham. Not the concept, not the craft. The craftsman is what surprised me.

More than anything, I was amazed by how he carried the thought for forty years.

Even a small unfinished thought is hard to carry.
He carried a whole movie plot.
For years. That is a battle.

For some reason, more than the film itself, I liked the energy it created.

Fantasy film.

Summer.

DSP’s Melodies.

I went back to my childhood, to the summer matinee my father and I used to go to.

That said. A man at ninety-four, sitting in a wheelchair, could do it.

So why can’t we.
